JAF – Two Guys. Together since 2011.
In 2014 we saw a supercool video of bubble football. We immediately decided we would need to try it out. And so we did... in Düsseldorf! (more…)
"One town isn't big enough for a tight pants love triangle." Christina Aguilera and Will Ferrell battle Jimmy Fallon for the tightest tight pants in the whole village. You've got to give it to him: Jimmy Fallon has some of the funniest short formats ever created in his television show. Think of the dozens celebrity lip sync battles for example. He started that whole hype. Since the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon isn't being aired in Germany, we like to often have a peek on some YouTube snippets of the show. And boy, have you got to see this one till the very end. Not only because it's starring the fabulous Christina Aguilera and Will Ferrell but also because it are three and a half damn funny minutes. Got my tight pants, got my tight pants on! Muahaha! :-)
It's a fact: Scotch & Soda made its debut on New York Fashion Week to reveal the Fall Winter 2016 collection. How they did it? With a big bang! It's no secret that we're big Scotch & Soda fans. From its more decadent styles, to its great denim washes and basics with cool details - we mostly prefer to have everything the Amsterdam based brand has to offer centralized in one place: our wardrobe. On Valentines Day Scotch & Soda revealed its Fall Winter 2016 collection. And they did so for the first time on the New York Fashion Week. If that's not exciting enough, they chose to do it in a more creative way than using the regular catwalk. The brand went for a spectacular show with intergalactic mood projections, models and live musicians up on the wall in shopping windows and most important: great merchandise. Be sure to watch the full show and put some Scotch & Soda must-haves on your wishlist for the upcoming Fall Winter season. I already know which cardigan will most definitely be mine...
Don't you just LOVE Carpool Karaoke from The Late Late Show with James Cordon? Well, you most definitely will after seeing the Sia episode. James Cordon is one of the most popular tv hosts right now. With his Carpool Karaoke he already cruised around the streets with a lot of celebrities that don't mind singing out loud. In the latest episode James spots Sia in Los Angeles and asks her to carpool to work with him as they sing some of the biggest songs she's performed and written, including "Chandelier" and "Diamonds". A-ma-zing. That girl can surely sing. Also seriously worth a watch: the carpool karaoke with Adele:
For the very first dairy-free dinner party at our place, we put together a jummy codfish with a creamy zucchini white whine sauce and pine nut rice as the main course. And of course we'll give you all the tips and tricks to able you to put it together yourself. Enjoy! Here's what you need for two (times four in our case since we had six guests): - 2 fresh codfish filets (around 180g each) - 1 slice of dried crumbled bread - 50g parmesan cheese (make sure it has below 0,1g carbs) For the sauce: - 1 zucchini - 200g dairy-free cream - 100ml white wine - a pinch of salt - black pepper For the pine nut rice: - 1 cup of rice at your choice - a handful of pine nuts How to? Pre-heat your oven at 180 degrees. Cut the zucchini in small cubes and place them in an oven plate. Mix the dairy-free cream with the white wine and spice it at your personal taste with salt and pepper. Poor the mixture over the zucchini cubes till they are covered. Lay the codfish filets on top of the sauce. Next, mix the breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese. This should form a sticky consistency. Now spread out over the fish filets and put the plate in the oven for fifteen to twenty minutes. Meanwhile you have enough time to cook the rice and roast the pine nuts in a pan. Just before the rice is ready, add the pine nuts to it so the rice can absorb the delicious aroma. Bing! Did you hear that? Your dairy-free fish dish is ready to be served! Guten Appetit!
Since Jeroen found out he has a pretty nasty lactose intolerance (he's allergic to milk products) we started to become experts in cooking dairy-free. For one of our dairy-free dinner parties we made this delicious starter that we discovered in the 'Vegan for Youth'-book from Attila Hildmann. Here's all you need to put it on a plate yourself: Cucumber lasagne with a paprika cashew paste with avocado filling What you need for two as a main course (times two in our case as a starter for eight): - 1/2 cucumber - 1 tablespoon walnut oil - a pinch of seasalt For the paprika cashew paste: - 100g red paprika - 1/4 chili pepper - 180g unsalted cashews - a pinch of kurkuma - seasalt - black pepper For the avocado filling: - 2 avocados - 1 tablespoon of chopped dill - 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice - 1 tablespoon walnut oil - seasalt - black pepper For decoration: - some dill - roasted pine nuts How to? Wash the cucumber and cut in thin slices (around 2mm thick). Put walnut oil and seasalt on it. Wash the paprika and chili. Remove pits. Next, put all ingredients for the paprika cashew paste in a blender. Mix till you get a creamy paste and spice it up with salt and pepper. Slice the avocados in half. Remove pit and cut the avocado in small cubes. Add the other ingredients for the filling and add salt and pepper. Now start building your little lasagne tower! Place cucumber slices on the plate, cover it with some of the paprika cashew paste, put cucumber slices on top and cover that again with some of the avocado filling, ... you know the drill. At the end: decorate with a bit of dill and roasted pine nuts (we like to put a LOT of them on top). Finish! Bon appétit!
During our stay in one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, we just had to use its infinity pool for a refreshing session of Les Mills Bodyjam! In May 2015 we've enjoyed an awesome holiday in Bali. As already mentioned in our These Hotels Are Sick-post, we're quite the fans of the Hanging Gardens Resort in Ubud, Bali. F booked a few nights in this little paradise as an anniversary present. Woohooh! You can imagine the thrilledness when figuring it out at arrival. And when you're staying in a dream destination - Bodyjam and dance addicts as we are -, you just NEED to show some hot dance moves. But don't worry, the refreshing water of the infinity pool kept us cool. We hit the pool for the work-out at the early morning around 6AM for Bodyjam 72 (The Lawnmower - Aryay). You would imagine you could do this unnoticed when getting up that early. Guess again... An applause of crew and guests followed. :-) So, what's the next dreamy Bodyjam destination where we can perform some of the by Gandalf Archer choreographed moves? Stay tuned!
With hot summer temperatures hitting us, it's awesome having a dip in a refreshing pool. The Royal Flush in Texas makes your refreshment quite spectacular. Meet the craziest water slide ever! The in April launched water slide in the BSR Cable Park in Texas can be a dream come true or for some a real nightmare. With its steep slide down, get ready to be completely catapulted in the sky and to hit the water after one, two, three, four,... flips. After surviving the Reebok Spartan Race we're most definately in for a ride. But are you up for it as well? Check it out! Swimsuit packed? Let's go!
With the US legalization of gay marriage and the 45th annual pride parade in New York, Facebook turned all happy rainbow on everyone. Beyoncé came out of the closeth with something really cool to show her support to #lovewins. Never Too Late #LoveWins ❤️ Ein von Beyoncé (@beyonce) gepostetes Video am 1. Jul 2015 um 10:35 Uhr Thanks B. We love you too.
If you put us in front of a sporty challenge, chances are high we won't say no. So when a few friends invited us to join their sprint team for the Reebok Spartan Race, we were all aboard! March this year, I received a text message with "You guys should join our team for the Reebok Spartan Race. It will be cool. You have to sign-up today!". Little did we know what we were getting into but we quickly signed up, assuming it's some kind of marathon. Not. A few weeks later we discovered the true nature of the Reebok Spartan Race, an obstacle race. Let's show you... Yeah. We were a bit excited as well after seeing that a few days before taking part of the race. It's probably no surprise when we say we were slightly nervous at the starting point. But hey, together with our great team we took on all the obstacles, ran our ass off and all covered in mud did we get to that burning finish line. Our team Les Spartans even finished as the fastest - and let's just say BEST - sprint team of the day with a time of 01:16:29. Let's do that again!
In 10 Years there will be a windowless airplane where the sky is the limit. Imagine sitting in a flight cabin where the windows are display screens, relaying a choice of views from around the aircraft. Sounds great and this company is working on it. The Center for Process Innovation (CPI), a British technology research company is working on the next big step in air transportation. They are aiming to replace the windows from passenger planes with touch-screens that extend along the plane’s entire length and display the view from outside through cameras mounted on the plane’s exterior. According to CPI, windows are one of the greatest sources of unnecessary weight in passenger planes. Solid walls are stronger and allow the walls to be built thinner as well. The OLED screens that replace the windows would display the view outside and allow passengers to select entertainment and stewardess service. Nice side effect: less weight means less fuel consumption which results again in lower CO2 emissions. Thumps Up! A bright technology to look forward to and a whole new flight eperience. No need to look through these tiny little airplane windows any longer. We already see ourselves about to land in New York City with a stunning panoramic city view by night or passing by the Mount Everest. 2024 can come. JafJaf! Extra designed OLED screens will show passengers the world outside. Via the screens passengers can ask for service, see all flight information and enjoy internet access and media players.
Pharrell Williams x Adidas Originals first phase available now. Pharrell Williams has become one of the major American music producer to launch a design range this week with trainers and sportswear for Adidas. Now, Adidas has unveiled the first two pieces from its collaboration with musician and producer Pharrell Williams, which launched in shops on Saturday, 20th. Three more product releases will follow in October, November and December. The total collection will consist of a series of limited edition pieces with the draw on items from the sportswear brand's collection of classic designs. The first two are a version of Adidas' Superstar track jacket in leather and the brand's classic Stan Smith shoes, which will come in three colors: blue, red and black. "The equal sign is the leitmotif of the collaboration's logo," said Adidas in an official statement about the logo for the collaboration. "Next to the Adidas Originals trefoil, two of the iconic three stripes transform into a bold equal sign with the third being the name of Pharrell Williams," the brand explained further. Adidas also said that the products in the collaboration would "revolve around Pharrell's idea of equality," but did not explain how this had been applied to the jacket and trainers. Release Date: Available Now! - Store: www.adidas.com/pharrellwilliams Adidas first announced its collaboration with Pharell at the beginning of this year, but is not the only brand to be working with the producer. In July, Pharrell unveiled a collection of clothing for G-Star RAW with fabrics made from materials, created using waste plastic collected from the sea. At the moment it seems that everything the great producer/singer touches is meant to be very succesful. From his Oscar-winning 'Happy' song which turned into an anthem earlier this year, to multiple magazine covers. For sure one of the men of 2014. Stay tuned for more. JafJaf!
J's 25th life year brings a new premium friend along: a lovely Drykorn suit. Ah, birthdays. The time to gather all your beloved friends and family to talk about the past year, have a drink, a dance, a bite, a selfie with everyone. The perfect moment to have a good time all together. You have to just love it. Next to that, birthdays are also the time of presents... With my 25th birthday last week, I received quite some gift cards and shopping money. Logically it didn't take me too long to go out and spend it. And if I may say: it's been spent wisely. Already for a long period I've been in need of a second complete suit. Most of the time you can easily combine a good qualitative jeans with a nice blazer for a casual office look, but sometimes you'd just like it to be a little more dressed. So, with freshly received cash money in the hand, F and I went to look for a new full costume at Drykorn (yes, Made For Beautiful People). After trying on quite some cool stuff, we decided to go for this dark blue suit with a cool pattern all over the blazer and pants that clearly makes it stand out. By the way: it not only looks good, it also feels soft. Prrrrr. So, fashion police, what are your thoughts? Can I walk into your office? JafJaf!
Ready for cruising through next Summer in style? Have a look at the electric MINI Superleggera Vision concept! As announced earlier in Spring this year, this exclusive interpretation of an electric open-top two-seater was created by MINI and Touring Superleggera, the stylish couch builder from Milan. The MINI Superleggera Vision is on the one hand a classic roadster, a compact and agile two-seater, expressing the most minimalist and emotional style of motoring; and on the other hand its electric drivetrain gives the car distinctly modern driving dynamics. The perfectly balanced proportions indicate at first glance what the electrically powered MINI has to offer in terms of a driving experience: the stretched bonnet, long wheelbase and cool, short overhangs convey pure driving fun. As in every MINI, the wheels are set widely on the body, promising a high degree of agility. The passenger cell is slightly set back, further underscoring the car's dynamic impression. The result is a car of classic beauty that is also state of the art. And we sure like it... a lot! This all is still in a concept phase, but as reactions are mainly very positive, BMW announced production could be something of the near future. Fingers crossed! Can you already imagine yourself taking this baby for a spin? JafJaf!
Already for some months now we're big fans of the two Belgian brothers who founded Gemini Bracelets. Selling their collection so far in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Portugal and Luxemburg, this Fall the arm candy will finally be available in Germany as well. First shops to get a glimpse of them are located in Aachen, Munich and Cologne (not thát far away from Dusseldorf - ha). We really love our Gemini Bracelets because whatever you're wearing - sporty, casual or business - it always suits you. And with their high quality standard and view, it not only completes your look but just brings you in a better mood. We've got some pieces of their new collection and would like to share them with you. F went for a cool office look while J goes for smooth in casual. In both ways our precious bracelets take it to the next level. What do you think? And to be mentioned: While shooting the pictures for this post we were even asked where we got our Gemini Bracelets. The German man in the streets of Dusseldorf definitely approves their arrival in Deutschland. Lol! JafJaf!
Thinking about redecorating your wall? Well, here we have a great creative DIY that lets you create your individual wall art for little money and not more than 4 tiny wholes in your wall. All you need is an older wooden picture frame, chicken wire, white paint spray and colorful paper of your choice. Having all materials and tools ready it will take you not more than a couple of hours to create your personalized wall art. The first step is to staple the chicken wire onto the back of your frame with a staple gun. Take care to get rid of all the sharp edges with a wire cutter. Having finished the construction start spraying the frame with paint until it is evenly white and let it dry. Before attaching it to the wall measure and mark where the screw wholes should be and use a drill bit to get thorugh your painted frame. Then install it to the wall using a spacer to keep some distance. Finally cut the paper into colorful pieces, roll them up and stuff them into the chicken wire openings. Follow your own taste and creativity to create various waves of colors, use it to say 'Happy Birthday' or just 'Love you honey' on Valentine's Day. The result from far appears to be done with paint but taking a closer look it gets obvious that this work is just done with paper and wire. JafJaf!
Instant goosebumps when you hear the intimate Sam Sparro 'Love Never Felt So Good' live version, originally from the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Yearly in September, Belgian radio channel Q-Music comes up with an exciting renewed on-air planning. New this year is that every Monday, a famous artist stops by at the morning show to bring an own song and a cover. First to kick-off: the great Sam Sparro with his version of the invincible Michael Jackson 'Love Never Felt So Good'. Music-lovers as we are, we thought this was more than worth a share. Curious for the upcoming Monday mornings at Q-Music! Enjoy! JafJaf!
The Yerka project brings bicycle theft to an end - hopefully. Normally a bike is an easy target for thieves. We all know that. Esspecially in bigger cities you better watch out where to leave your bike. It doesn't matter how thick your padlock is or how frequently visited the place is where you leave your bike behind. Thieves always seem to find a way to get away with it. Three chilean engineering students have been victims of exactly the same. They teamed up and created the Yerka Project. A bicycle that once it is properly locked up, can only be stolen by destroying it. The locking mechanism is integrated in the bike's frame. You will open the frame and use the bike's saddle to lock it which will take around 20 seconds of your time. Next to this great idea the creators maintained the urban city look of the bike. The developed prototype is a mixture of speed- and mountainbike with colourful details and generates a desire for more. JafJaf!

The next crazy thing Dubai is going to build: a temperature-controlled city, known as the 'Mall of the World'. Dubai has always had a thing for showing off. They have Bugatti police cars, the world's tallest buildings and an underwater hotel. But now, they are going to build the world's first integrated temperature-controlled city and an indoor theme park, covered by a retractable glass dome that opens during winter months. It will be located in the Al Sufouh district, close to the water front. If everything goes as planned, the shopping and entertainment complex will include a Broadway-style theater district; a pedestrian walkway modeled on Barcelona’s Las Ramblas; a 6.9-km retail network of roads, based on London’s Oxford Street; 20,000 hotel rooms; underground parking; an indoor family theme park and a “wellness district” for medical tourists. We call that a clear understatement. JafJaf!
The sun is shining, the Summer mood is there and you want to get your body moving! In Berlin you have the famous FLY Watergate open air parties in Rummelsburg. After a day of cultural wandering in Berlin on Saturday, we had our party plan for the Sunday. And how great was it. With two stages, a more eclectic main stage for the energetic dancing and a more 'chill' beach stage, the FLY open air party on Sunday brought us in our best Summer festival mood. Isn't it great to dance with your naked feet, surrounded by nature and a great view on the water? We loved it. People who plan to still go to Berlin during Summer: check out the Watergate website because there are still some great parties coming up. People from Düsseldorf: check out Kiesgrube. ;-) JafJaf!
During Summer it's very, very, very important to keep hydrated. Yes, we try to get our recommended amount of water in, but now and then a nice cocktail is welcome to take care of the thirst. Our favorite: the mojito! There are actually so many different mojitos. We lined up our favorite fruity ones from Yummly for the weekend. Do we hear a party coming up? TGIF! JafJaf! Cranberry mojito Kiwi mojito Tripple berry mojito Rhubarb mojito Watermelon mojito Coconut mango mojito

We'll have to confirm that the Warlblers from Glee do exist in real life. They study and sing a capella at Oxford University, calling themselves Out of the Blue. The boys recorded a Shakira medley and released the single with a sassy video for charity. All profits go to the Helen and Douglas House, hospice care for terminally ill children and young adults. Hips don't lie and these guys sure know how to shake them! JafJaf!
Rememer the first holographic messages in Star Wars coming from R2-D2? Or Tom Cruise in Minority Report? Those and others have shown the way into the future: quickly switch on a small machine, wild gesturing with the hands in the air and there it is: the operating scenario via holographic technic. This all seemed like science-fiction to most of us on planet earth but the Chinese company Shenzhen Estar Displaytech Co. claims to have the first holographic phone, ready to enter the market. Discover the Takee 1. Since end of June the company has their very first video online on YouTube, showing the Takee 1 in action and this Thursday the company will even present the Holo Phone. 4 different cameras on the front of the smartphone are helping to capture every detail in the right dimension, angle and timing. The manufacturer calls this technology 'Smart Holographics'. The video is pretty impressive and it already looks like Tom Cruise would use the phone in his next science fiction blockbuster. Wow. Dinner at a restaurant can taste twice as good when you have something nice to look at. Having said that, here you have six cool restaurants, spread over the globe, that will probably make you get quite hungry. The Grotto - Krabi, Thailand It couldn't get more romantic than this: this restaurant was build in an ancient cave, giving you a magnificent view over the Phranang Beach while you warm up for dinner with a lovely cocktail. Sirocco - Bangkok, Thailand Thailand doesn't seem too bad for dining. From the 63rd floor of the State Towers, the crazy metropole called Bangkok turns into a sea of lights. Sirocco is not only famous for being the world's highest open-air restaurant with a killer view, the Wagyu steak should also be divine. El Farallón - Cabo San Lucas, Mexico On your plate: fresh sea fruits, straight from the grill. In your face: the Pacific, reflecting all the colors of the beautiful sunset. Fangweng - Yichang, China Afraid of heights? If the answer is yes, than it's wise to skip Fangweng. If not, enjoy the view from this restaurant that actually hangs on a cave. Real daredevils even have the opportunity to do a bungee jump. Maybe best before eating... Grotta Palazzese - Polignano a Mare, Italy A real romance maker. You, your loved one, candlelight dinner, the Adriatic sea and a restaurant that's carved inside of a cave. Great to score some extra points. Clouds - Hamburg, Germany Who ever said you have to travel far to discover the world? Also near to home you can enjoy something incredible. At Clouds you can get a mighty good steak on the 23rd floor of the 'Tanzende Türme' and meanwhile enjoy the supplementary view over wonderful Hamburg. JafJaf!
Do you know the yearly feeling of excitement around February/March when you want to plan your Summer escape and say: „Let’s do something special this year, something we will always remember. Let’s live it up!“? Last year we most certainly did plan that special unforgettable vacation. We booked our flights to Zanzibar, the beautiful island next to Tanzania in East Africa. At arrival, our -yet to become- friend Mohammed waits for us with his taxi. „Djambo djambo, my friends! I will take you through my beautiful country“. Well, off we go. Since we wanted to see a lot of Zanzibar, we booked a Bungalow Lodge in the South for our first week, to move to the more touristic North during halftime of the Holiday. On our two hour drive towards the first stay, Mohammed decides to be a bit spontaneous and stops for a treat of freshly cut coconut. No extra charge. Could you imagine a taxi in Europe stopping to buy you a pretzel or an ice-cream? Unbelievable. During the rest of the trip towards the South, Mohammed advises us about the different excursions, the do’s and don’ts in Zanzibar and explains the sad political/economical situation of this paradise. This was the most personal and genuine taxi-ride we’ve ever taken. We directly made arrangements for the drive from the South to the North. Arriving in Paje, we drop our bags in our bungalow, get seated on the terrace, watch the pearly white deserted beach like you only see in movies and hear the relaxing sound of waves come back and forth and back and forth. Paradise. The next morning we awake with the sun having a peek in our room around six. A smile on our faces, the balcony door open and breakfast is served. While eating our delicious fruits, eggs and a local kind of bread, we decide to explore the beach while going for a run and to take the rest of the day off. Hakuna matata. :) Paje is quite known for its kite surfers. It’s not (yet) the most touristic place but surfers seam to swear for the spot since the water is flat and the waves and the wind streams are great for them. You even have some schools here to learn the right skills. Though tempted to get on a board, we decide to learn the skills at home and to definitely come back. Activities we did do are highly recommendable for an unforgettable experience. Dolphin swimming is one of them, just be prepared to get up early as hell. Autch. It was at four in the morning when a jeep was waiting for us. Still half a sleep we manage to get into the car that later on picks up Kassandra, Kay and Katie, our new Canadian friends. They talk about an addictive game called Candy crush and how they are waiting for their friends to give them a new life via Facebook. We kind of liked it and soon are all prepared to meet the dolphins… after finishing level 32 of Candy crush. You might have heard or experienced the dolphin swimming in touristic places like Florida where the animals are living in captivity. This is no such thing. In Zanzibar you have a group of wild dolphins that every morning swims towards the same spot looking for food. A speedboat brings you there and than it’s up to you to jump in the refreshing (read: ice-cold) water and to swim between twenty, thirty, maybe forty dolphins. No words can describe this. Let’s just say: it’s amazing. On our way back, we talk to the girls about joining for a sailboat trip later the week. Great idea and so we enjoyed a more traditional and touristic, but nevertheless very enjoyable, excursion that takes you to a deserted island for an all-you-can-eat seafood bbq. On the way towards the island, the boat stops for snorkeling and sunbathing on a sandbank with crystal clear blue water. We really loved our stay in Paje. It even was a bit sad to leave it behind when Mohammed was greeting us with a most friendly „Djambo djambo, friends“ when picking us up for part two of the holiday. During the three hour drive in direction of Nungwi, we took a break at a spices farm. Though we think this was really interesting, it might not be for everyone. People who like to see where their coffee comes from and never realized that pineapples actually come out of the ground are up for a treat. And anyway, it’s nice to have a stop in between the ride. Nungwi is completely different than Paje. Here you see a big clash between South and North, which doesn’t mean one of them is less enjoyable. We stayed at a new five star hotel, called Hideaway of Nungwi. Luxury and service are the keywords at this palace. A great place for relaxing, swimming, buffet surfing, … A great place to get spoiled. Look out for good deals end May till mid June when the raining season is over. We really enjoyed the great service, a classy junior suite with sea view, dips in the infinity pool and peace and quite. Ultimate relaxing-proofed. Every month you have a full moon party in Nungwi. People from all over the African continent travel to Zanzibar just for this famous parties. Of course JAF was present. And, yes, it’s really cool to have an open air party with pounding music to dance to on the beach. But don’t travel to Zanzibar just for the party. The hang-over is just as bad (or even worse) as in Germany. Autch. Thank god, the pool and its service welcomed us the next afternoon with open arms. „Can I have a wine please?“ A day trip to Stone Town was our last excursion. Interesting to see this really old town, which is an UNESCO world heritage site with arabic and indian influences. We hired a local guide to explain the history and to get to know the life of the locals. From our point of view one day at Stonetown is long enough. The last days we just enjoyed, relaxed and went to our morningly gym session (since the food was too good). Writing about it lets all the good memories come back and brings a big smile on our faces. If you are planning a trip and still need some help we are of course happy to help. We highly recommend our hotels:- Domokuchu Lodge, Paje (South).- Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa, Nungwi (North). JAF-tips:- Don’t forget your injections + the yellow card to prove you had them.- Change money at arrival. Credit cards are not everywhere accepted.- Always negotiate prices. It’s more than normal.- Restaurants are cheap. No need to look for a supermarket.- Be open and talk to the locals. They are friendly and are happy to help.- Don't forget your GoPro! Djambo djambo! There's nothing better than the feeling of sweat dripping down your face after an awesome workout. Or maybe there is... We just discovered something quite unbelievable: Bubble football! This sport from Denmark just found its way to Germany (even with its own national competition). The idea behind it is practically the same as from classic football. Small difference: the players are walking bubbles, bumping into each other while trying to get the ball in the goal of the opponent. Hi-la-ri-ous! We're definitely gonna look for a team in the Düsseldorf area. Interested in joining, let us know on firstname.lastname@example.org. And else: see you soon in the bumping and bouncing competition! (more…)

F speaking. Now that the move to Düsseldorf is more or less done, I took the opportunity to try my new KitchenAid Blender. I have read so much about all these green smoothies that I felt like doing it by myself, instead of paying a small fortune in a shop. And see: it is quick, easy and healthy. Exactly what I was looking for. It is the bitter substances in the raw green salads and vegetables wich you barely find in food today. Everything tastes sweet or salty, and when you think about it there is some truth in it, no? The greens stimulate your digestion and only with a good functioning digestive system, all the nutrients and viral substances can reach every cell of your body. But enough talking, let's see what you need to start the day green. :-) For a basic green smoothie you need the following: (2 glasses) spinach leaves or green salad leaves of a carrot bundle Broccoli Lemon Juice 1 Banana 1/2 Mango Water Now I just put everything in my KitchenAid Blender and fill it up with one glass of water. Then I close the blender with the cover and start it for about one minute. Finished. In general the fruits are only used to neutralize the bitterness. So you can vary with the fruits you want to use and the amount. Other possibilities are e.g. pineapple, pears or a sweeter sort of apple. For the greens you have a wide range of what you can use: rocket salad, chicory, radicchio, endives or broccoli, cauliflower and even more. As you can see, this is very easy and it is up to all of us to experiment and find our personal favorite green smoothie. There is no need to follow strict rules and measurements of how much of each ingredient is needed. Already on your way to get your blender from the basement? ;-) Have fun, and go green. JafJaf!
